This week, the Project Team took a ‘snapshot,’ or copy, of the current real-life data from all eight NSHE member institutions that will be used in the upcoming second Workday prototype (P2). Next, they’ll extract and convert that data into something that Workday can use—which is no easy process. Months of forethought and tireless effort have gone into establishing the protocols for getting data out of legacy systems and into its proper place and format in the upcoming P2 build. For the past few months, members from each institution and the Project Team have also worked together to eradicate issues that could compromise how Workday interprets the legacy data. And all their hard work will reap tremendous rewards. Loaded with this new data snapshot, P2 will give the Team a vastly improved understanding of how Workday will function across NSHE when it goes live in October 2017. It will also help the Team lead detailed demonstrations and create more accurate training materials that reflect how all of NSHE will use Workday’s tools. Fresh, real-life data for P2 will go a long way in assuring Workday will be a success for everyone.
