For P2 System Testing, the iNtegrate2 Project reached out to all eight NSHE institutions to recruit testers. The Team was looking not only for people with backgrounds in Human Capital Management (HCM) or Finance, but also for people who have a deep understanding of the way their institutions currently work. The result of this collaborative search is a well-rounded group of highly-qualified testers who offer perspective from each and every institution. This week, HCM testers met in Reno and Finance testers gathered in Las Vegas for a series of orientation sessions, known as Playbacks, on the recently finished second NSHE Workday prototype (P2). The Team presented demonstrations that focused on key functions and processes that testers will need to know as they begin evaluating and executing NSHE-specific testing scenarios. Testers were also shown the testing tool where the scenarios are located and the test results will be reported, and they performed a few tests as groups to get a feel for the testing process.
The testing portion of System Testing begins in earnest next week with testers working through scenarios remotely. Expert team members for both Finance and HCM will be available to answer questions via video conference. Beginning the week of 11/28, testers will have dedicated labs at their disposal for both Finance and HCM in Reno and in Las Vegas. Expert team members will also be on-site in both locations to answer questions immediately, and will be available to remote testers via online video conference. Testers also have access to a library of video recordings and PowerPoint presentations from this week’s Playbacks to reference at their convenience. The Project’s goal is to offer every resource testers need to be successful at this important step on the way to Workday’s go-live date of October 2017. System Testing is scheduled to run through mid-January 2017.
Please note: The Project will be sending you daily System Testing updates beginning 11/21.
